So true! I’m just reading the newsletter today. But I was just telling someone the same thing last night. And the funny thing was watching their reaction because they just didn’t get it. To them wisdom and knowing comes from something someone else has written or set forth. The idea of it coming from within in conjuction with the Spirit of the Universe was absolutely foreign and out of the question. Thank you for your words and right on time affirming.

I liked your article and agree with most of it. Like you, I am a metaphysics teacher, healer, and hugger. I used to feel that the tent hug you speak of was wrong, but have come to realize that we all touch at the level we are comfortable with and you are right that there is no real right and wrong way. There are better and worse ways, however.
The “heart to heart” hug can be a very spiritual and emotional experience. I use it often in the course of a healing process, with an energy class, and as a greeting or parting when an energy transfer is desired. Usually not with a total stranger, though.
I generally discourage the tent type hug because it is usually a very closed off, fake thing, that I seldom get positive energy from. When dealing with the person that gives this type hug, I usually tell them that I’d just as soon have a warm handshake. Often there may be trust or other issues that the person needs to address before becoming comfortable with full hugs. There are also people that we instinctively know we do not want that close to our energy or physical body for various reasons.
I do feel subtle differences in energies at various distances.
